Abuela Sinha Sanctuary was founded by Daniela Fischleder. Daniela grew up in Brasil with her grandmother, Sinhá, who raised her and became her first teacher.
From her came a closeness to plants and medicinal herbs, a deep spiritual life, the pleasure of caring for others and an attention to beauty in ordinary things.
Abuela Sinhá carries her name and continues something of what Daniela received from her — not as something preserved in the past, but as knowledge that can remain alive, change and find a place in the present.

For us, connection is something practised through attention — in how a room is prepared, how tea is made, how someone is welcomed and how we spend time together.
Ancestral Wisdom

Much of what we explore at Abuela Sinhá comes from practices that have travelled through generations: plant knowledge, making by hand, ritual, embodied knowledge and ways of living in relationship with nature.
We approach these traditions with curiosity, care and respect for where they come from.
Beauty
Beauty has always been part of Daniela's way of working.
Not as decoration, but as attention to the details of everyday life — a flower on the table, the scent of a plant, food prepared for others, an object made slowly by hand.
We believe beauty can change how we experience a moment.
Community
We believe in the value of returning — to a place, to a practice, and to one another.
Abuela Sinhá is shaped by the people who come through the house regularly: teachers, practitioners, members, guests and friends. Community grows through shared practice, conversation, food, learning and the small familiarity that develops over time.
For us, the sanctuary is not only somewhere to attend something. It is a place to become part of.
